Geese don't USUALLY defecate while flying. Somehow, "usually" just isn't enough. And, since I'm at work and don't have time to read the Economist article right now, are they talking about correlations, or actual causes? I'm guessing correlations, which means that if I start playing basketball, maybe I'll grow another foot, since basketball players are tall. Hmmm. Geese don’t USUALLY defecate while flying.
