I wonder when they will sequence the genomes of the 1000 different types of bacteria that colonize the gut? Maybe drug makers could then concoct a "skinny" pill (probably a capsule) that consists of short-lived bacteria that (if taken daily) will kill off the "fat" bacteria in your gut and colonize it with the skinny bacteria.
