Looking over the photo, it’s hard to see why this group needs mandatory exercise. They all look fit as a fiddle. I suspect this photo was staged.
I agree with Neil. These women have been exercising all along.
I agree that the workers in the photo don’t look like they are out of shape. I would venture to say the proponents of this program like to see their workers engaged in collecting displays, sort of like the old Soviet military parades through Red Square.
I don’t see an ounce of fat anywhere.
The way China is getting serious about healthy lifestyles is by parading people who already lead healthy lifestyles in front of a camera.
None of you is seeing the serious side of this. We could well get mandatory exercise periods in this country. If they can make you buy health insurance don’t you suppose that making you change your lifestyle is coming next?
I agree with Larry. Mandatory exercise stunk in high school and will stink in adulthood.
On the other hand, I bet China’s “do as we say and forget about any chance of making your own choices” will probably put them in a much better situation than we’re in right now. Imagine if you had to do 30 push-ups to enter a Walmart. Our country would be much much different.
