“NSA employees spied on their lovers.”
I’m sure they would assume that would happen, though. If you’re with someone that works for the NSA, how could you not be watching your back?
Interesting point. I wonder if the divorce right is higher in the intelligence community. It would be interesting to see if there is just less trust all around.
Not a big surprise that the NSA abused its powers. I bet some went to work there thinking “I really could find out what my wife does with her friends on the weekend!”
I wonder if anybody was swayed by just that kind of incentive.
A really insecure person perhaps?
Plenty of insure people out there in the world, too bad many of them we rely on in our government.
I wouldn’t doubt it.
“Men feel worse about themselves when their wives succeed.”
It’s cultural. Men are told that their primary value is as provider.
I’ve read that that is changing. More men are seeing themselves as a nurturer of children as well.
And as a provider, men really need to feel as if they are the successful ones.
In today’s world, women are encouraged to succeed in the workforce, but their personal identity doesn’t rely on it.
“Are you fat? New estimates of your odds of dying.”
We want to prolong people’s lives and enhance their quality of life, but you have to die of something. Let people make their own decisions that affect how they’ll die.
Being fat has all kinds of problems associated with it, including death.
Everything leads to death. We all deserve the right to make choices that influence how and when we die.
“When the act was put together, it wasn’t thought completely through,” he said.
That is exactly what you want to hear from your biggest supporter. Where were these people 3 years ago?
It seems a little too convenient. Either they didn’t actually think before they supported it (kindof unlikely given their resources) or they are falling in line perfectly with the push for single-payer. It is becoming more and more apparent that the bill was designed to fail while whetting the appetite for universal health care.
Unions are huge supporters of Democrats, no big surprise here…
They definitely are and it sounds like they will support Democrats regardless of whether they like their positions or not!
