Forbes’ Avik Roy draws a line in the sand, arguing that opposing ObamaCare doesn’t go far enough, arguing that Republicans need to be offering their own, more conservative set of solutions.
I think the NCPA is so admirable in this regard. It’s easy to point out problems and hard to find solutions. The NCPA has a credible answer to the charge that there’s “no alternative” which creates a lot of inertia to a flawed piece of legislation.

A woman goes to the post office to buy stamps for her Chanukah cards.
She says to the clerk, “May I have 50 Chanukah stamps?”
The clerk says, “What denomination?”
The woman says, “Oy, has it come to this? Give me 6 Orthodox, 12 Conservative, and 32 Reform.”
Hillarious! and Michelle, you make a remarkable point. The NCPA does an incredible job at pointing out challenging issues and offering different ways to approach them. Happy Hanukkah!
I especially liked the Health Wonk Review cartoon The Grinch Who Stole Hanukkah…
Instead of a cave full of presents, there are bag after bag of candles.
The Grinch loudly proclaims… “Now what am I going to do with all these candles? What was I thinking?!”
“John Goodman offers Congress some timely advice on reforming both Medicare and Medicaid. His take is that meaningful reform of these two programs requires both cutting costs and improving the quality of care, both of which he believes are doable (and he backs that up with concrete proposals).”
