The draft that is circulating around says that if employers fail to provide insurance, they must pay a tax equal to the subsidy people will be eligible for in the Exchange. For family coverage we are talking about $12,000 at least and for a low income family, the govenment subsidy is going to be $9,000 or more. And that $9,000 fine, of course, will come out of the wages of the worker.
