    In regards to the “calorie” article, it shows that losing weight is not always as simple as some people make it out to be.

    A calorie is not a calorie.

    According to the article, people on the low-carb diet burned about 300 calories more than those on a low-fat diet. Prior research has found that high-protein diets (i.e. more protein, less carbs) resulted in more lean muscle mass gain.

    Neither solely diet nor exercise make for effective, sustainable weight loss. A combination of a healthy diet and regular exercise is the only foolproof method.

    There’s a lot of variation among people who are dieting/trying to burn more calories. Body-type, genes, age, all sorts of factors.
