“White Californians believe college admissions should be based on merit, until they are reminded about Asians.”
Although, this is entirely consistent with affirmative action theology.
Yeah, and it would probably be bad for society if there was racial competition. That’s how hate crimes are created.
And maybe controversy over “merit” won’t last much longer.
Remember Janet Napolitano was recently named president of the University of California.
Her history at Homeland Security suggests Napolitano just may relax – or ignore – the University System’s admission standards.
“Merit” would then not matter much any more. I guess we’d all just have to learn to be equal. omg.

How is not accepting some women a hate crime…?
How would it reflect gender and racial bias? The person programming the computer may need to address the consequences in that case.

Well if reason is conflicting with discrimination in society…it’s probably not reasonable.
Basically, American believe in a strong work ethic, but only as long as it’s their efforts being rewarded. Once they’re forced to compete against someone better or harder-working, then they cry foul!
“More sex is associated with higher wages.”
Don’t really give a whole lot of credibility to these types of studies. You could find these correlations with so many things…but what’s the point.
While there are a lot of correlations that doesn’t make it any less likely of being true…it just means that there are a lot of correlations.
