An overweight woman may have a difficult time getting a job which provides her health insurance. A study published in Annals of the New York Academy of Sciences finds that the attractiveness of interviewees can significantly bias outcome in hiring practices, reflecting a clear distinction between the attractive and normal,or even overweight interviewees in terms of high and low status job packages offered. Better jobs: better insurance. Besides the obvious effects of her weight impacting her health, she will have a difficult time obtaining insurance, and then will then be mistreated in the health care system. Seems like an obvious decision to me - "put down the fork." Let’s start at the basics.
