This is typical inside the Beltway analysis. No wonder the White House doesn’t get it. The Washington press corps doesn’t get it either.
There is no such thing as deep thinking inside the Beltway. It is all about tactics and messaging — smoke and mirrors.
I think you all are right. Even the Fox News chattering folks tend to be overly focused on people and messaging. They are very weak on substance. When have you ever heard the health bill explained there? And if it’s not explained on Fox, you can be certain it’s not being explained anywhere else.
People in Washington don’t pay attention to substance. It’s not in their nature.
I guess it never occured to Young that the bill is failing because it is a really bad bill.
